Detailed parking information

Parking and ending your trip

How do I lock the car if I want to park for a short period of time?
Before you exit the car, select ‘Park & Come Back’ on the in-car screen and lock the car with the ReachNow app or your Member Key card on the windshield card reader. You will be charged a reduced rate ($0.30 per minute) while the vehicle is parked.

Do I have to return the vehicle to the location where I picked it up?
No. ReachNow is a free-floating car sharing service, which means you can end your trip anywhere in the Home Area. When you're done driving, park in any legal parking space on the street, including for free at meters in Portland.

How do I end a trip?
Once you’ve found a legal parking space, tap the Start/Stop engine button. Double check that all the windows (including the sunroof) are closed. Grab all your items and then lock the car to end your trip using your ReachNow app or tap your Member Key card on the windshield card reader. When the light on the reader turns green, your trip is complete.

Where can I drop off ReachNow vehicles?
You can park your ReachNow vehicle anywhere you find a legal street parking spot inside the Home Area. You're welcome to take the car outside of the Home Area, but you are responsible for parking at and paying for meters.

Can I take a ReachNow Portland car to Seattle?
Absolutely, but you cannot leave it there. ReachNow Portland cars call Portland home and must be returned to the Portland Home Area to end your trip. If you're headed to Seattle, you're welcome to bring a ReachNow Portland car roundtrip. Or, if you get to Seattle another way, your membership lets you use ReachNow while in Seattle.

Where can I park?

Regular on-street parking spaces
You can park anywhere inside the Home Area for free as long as the spot is legal. You cannot park in spots designated for another use (For example: commercial vehicle load zones, truck load and unload, food-vehicle zones, reserved electric car spaces or disabled parking zones, etc.). There are some situations where zones are temporarily no park zones. Play it safe and avoid parking in temporary no park zones less than 12 hours before it converts to a no park zone. You will be responsible for any tickets or towing fees if the car needs to be removed.

Can I park in Residential Parking Zones?
Yes, within the Home Area, you can legally park in residential parking zones - no special permit required. You must be within the Home Area to end your reservation. Be mindful not to block any driveways or loading zones.

Special parking spaces
You can park in metered spots, or spots with time limits of at least 1 hour or more.

Private facilities
Parking lots, even ones that say "public parking," are not free to use with ReachNow. While it’s okay to park temporarily in a private lot, you are responsible for any private parking charges and you cannot end a trip there. To end your trip, you must find a legal street parking space inside the Home Area.

Parking at the Portland International Airport
Members cannot end their trip in short-term, long-term or economy lots at PDX; however, members may drop off or pick-up cars at AirPark, located at 6935 NE 82nd Ave., Portland, OR 97220. AirPark attendants will direct you to the ReachNow parking spaces that are clearly marked. A free 15 minute shuttle will take you to and from PDX.

Getting a free shuttle to AirPark from PDX.
Call +1 503-257-2559 and request a shuttle once you have reserved your car from the app. The shuttle is about 15 minutes away from PDX. The AirPark shuttle picks up on the lower roadway outside of baggage claim at Island 1. You will see a ReachNow logo on the shuttle.

Pricing FAQ

Can I keep a car for more than one day?
Yes. You can rent a car for up to 5 days. If you would like to keep a vehicle for more than 120 hours, please notify Member Support at (844) 732-2466 or support@reachnow.com.

Do I have to pay parking fees myself?
Within the Home Area, you may park at any meter or in residential parking zones free of charge. Fees for private garages and parking outside of the Home Area are solely your responsibility.

Do you pre-authorize my credit or debit card prior to my trip?
Yes, during registration we will pre-authorize $0.50 to confirm your card is active. We will also pre-authorize $1 when you reserve a vehicle to ensure your credit card is up-to-date and valid. You should see these pre-authorizations drop off your account within 24-72 hours depending on your bank.

What is ReachNow’s pricing?
Driving is $0.49 per minute, reduced to $0.41 for a limited time and parking is $0.30/minute. Keep your eye on the Newsroom for details about specials.

What is Flat Rate Pricing? How does it work?
We now offer flat rates for 1 hour, 3 hour and 24 hours trips. In Portland, the rates are $20 for 1 hour, $50 for 3 hours, $80 for 24 hours, $160 for 2 days, $240 for 3 days, $300 for 4 days, and $350 for 5 days. After the automatic rate cap time limit is met, per minute pricing applies again until the next tier is met. These prices include insurance, fuel (for trips under 24 hours), parking (at public meters on street within our Home Area in Portland), and up to 400 miles per day. Mileage in excess of 400 mi./day is billed at $0.45/mile.

What is the $1 Shared Asset Fee added to each of my trips?
In Portland, we add a $1 Shared Asset Fee to every trip to offset our expenses related to cleaning, maintaining and repairing the entire fleet of ReachNow vehicles.
