About ReachNow

ReachNow is the mobility services division of the BMW Group. Launched in 2016, ReachNow is committed to reinventing how individuals in busy, urban communities travel to the people and places they love. Now serving members in Seattle, Portland and New York City, we provide an ecosystem of services that allow you to choose from driving yourself, getting a ride, and going now or planning a trip for later.

What makes ReachNow unique?

ReachNow is your urban compass anytime you have somewhere to go. Our new app gives you the choice to Drive yourself or get a Ride, and you can travel immediately or plan a trip for a later day. Simply enter your destination in the app and we'll give you travel options, arrival times, directions and price estimates. To give it a try, download the app and register today. For a limited time, you can try our new Ride service in Seattle for free.

This new enhanced app doesn’t change any of the things our Members have grown to love about ReachNow. There are still hundreds of BMW and MINI vehicles available Seattle, Portland and New York.

Whether you're driving yourself or getting a Ride, we'll get you wherever there is.

    • Drive

    • Overview

Open the ReachNow app and enter your travel destination, and we'll show you nearby available cars. Tap to choose the car you want or use the filter to search for specific car types, including the BMW 3 Series, electric BMW i3, BMW X1, MINI Cooper or MINI Clubman vehicle. Once you’ve selected a car, hold it for up to 30 minutes at no charge directly from the app.

If your hold expires, you won’t be able to reserve that particular car for 2 hours. Instead, use the app to find the next closest car.

You can also grab any available ReachNow car off the street. If the reader on the front window of the car is green, you can use your Member Key card to take it spontaneously.

Once you get to the car, take a quick walk around to check for any damage, unlock it via the app, hop in and enter your 4 digit PIN (created during sign up). Enter your PIN by using the iDrive Controller located on the console between the seats. Press ok when done. Keep the car for as little or as long as you'd like (up to 5 days): drive to work, run errands, head to a trailhead or start a weekend getaway. You only pay for the time you use. Fuel in the tank/charging, metered street parking in Seattle/Portland, and liability insurance are always included in our per-minute price.

When you want to end your trip, park the car in a legal space permitted by our city-specific guidelines, grab your belongings and exit the vehicle. Select 'End Trip' and lock it with your app. You can also lock and end your trip using the Member Key card.

Not done with the car? Select 'Keep Car' in the app and pay $0.10 per minute. You can also select “Park and Come Back” on the in-car screen. If you’ve parked and changed your mind, don’t worry - it’s easy to end your trip remotely from the app at any time. Pro tip: Always close the windows and sunroof before locking the car.

    • FAQ

We provide a wide variety of BMWs and MINIs to meet your every travel need. In Seattle, our fleet consists of approximately 700 vehicles: the BMW 3 Series, electric BMW i3, BMW X1 Sports Activity Vehicle, MINI Cooper and MINI Clubman. In Portland, we have a slightly smaller fleet of 350 vehicles that consists of the same models.

It's really important that you take a moment to inspect the car before each trip and report any damage you find. This helps us maintain the quality of our cars, and also protects you from being charged for someone else's mistakes.

Follow the in-app instructions to report any damage you notice. Indicate where the damage is located on the vehicle, and add photos and additional details. If you’re unable to submit a Damage Report via the app, please call Member Support by tapping on the phone icon above or at (844) 732-2466.

Yes, all ReachNow cars are covered by the state mandated insurance minimums.

For Washington, we maintain $30,000 per person, $60,000 per accident and $10,000 in property damage.

For Oregon, we maintain $25,000 per person, $50,000 per accident and $20,000 in property damage.

For New York, we maintain $60,000 in combined single limit coverage.

You are responsible for a $500 damage fee if you are found at-fault in an accident and are in compliance with the Membership Agreement. If you are not in compliance, then you may be responsible up to the value of the damage.

Keep in mind that the insurance coverage maintained by ReachNow may not be adequate to fully cover your liability and may be secondary to any insurance you carry. You’re encouraged to obtain personal insurance coverage that covers your liability.

Depending on the circumstances, you could be held responsible for a standard damage fee or for the full cost of damages to a ReachNow vehicle. You are encouraged to obtain personal insurance coverage that covers your liability. Some credit card companies offer a rental vehicle damage benefit that may provide coverage for damage costs in some cases, assuming that card was used to pay for the trip.

        Seattle Off-Peak Parking Zone

EXCEPTION ONLY IN DOWNTOWN SEATTLE: You can end your trip in some time-restricted parking spaces within the shaded area of downtown Seattle (below) if that space will not convert to a no-parking zone within 1 hour of ending your trip. This special area of downtown is bordered by Mercer Street to the north, Jackson Street to the south, I-5 to the east and Alaskan Way/Elliott Ave/3rd Ave S to the west. For example, in this special area, you can park in a 3:00 - 6:00pm peak hour bus lane at 1:30pm, but you cannot park there at 2:30pm because it will convert to a no-parking zone in less than one hour. It does not apply to food vehicle zones or other spaces that convert to restricted parking during non-peak hours.

    • Fueling

Yes. You can view individual vehicle details, including fuel level and state of charge, in the ReachNow app. Before holding a vehicle, check the fuel/charge level to ensure it suits the needs of your trip. Our fleet team works around the clock to make sure cars are adequately fueled and charged.

No, you don't need to worry about filling up the tank before you end your trip. But do note, Members are required to return a vehicle with at least 5 miles of fuel/charge remaining – as calculated by the vehicle’s range computer.  If the vehicle is returned with less than 5 miles of range, a fuel surcharge may be assessed, plus applicable taxes.

You can refill on ReachNow one time during your trip!

ReachNow will reimburse you for one fueling/charging session (up to one tank of fuel/charge) during your trip, be sure to hang on to your receipt for reimbursement.  Simply email the receipt and license plate info of the vehicle to support@reachnow.com. We will confirm the vehicle was refueled/recharged and reimburse you (reimbursement may take a few weeks – be on the lookout for a check in the mail).
Members are responsible for any additional fuel costs beyond one tank of gas/charge.

Remember, before holding a vehicle, check the fuel/charge level to ensure it suits the needs of your trip.

    • Electric cars

The electric BMW i3 offers the same flexibility as the rest of the vehicles in our fleet, but there are some differences to be aware of if you have never driven an electric vehicle:

      • Silence: When you start the motor you will hear... nothing. You should keep in mind that the absence of noise could mean pedestrians and cyclists may not hear the car approaching.
      • Range: Depending on factors such as your driving style, the topography of your route, or the outside temperature, the total range of your trip will be up to 130 miles. That's roughly a trip from downtown Seattle to Olympia and back. Always be aware of your state of charge. There are multiple ways to view how many miles remain on the current charge: 1) Press the button on the cruise control stick (left side of the steering wheel) until you see remaining miles displayed on the control panel; or 2) Use the iDrive Controller to find your state of charge under vehicle settings. The BMW i3 has three driving modes: Comfort, Eco Pro and Eco Pro Plus. Eco Pro and Eco Pro Plus support an efficient driving style to conserve energy by reducing AC output and limiting acceleration and speed.
      • Regenerative Braking: The one-pedal control of the electric BMW eDrive system lets you brake using the accelerator pedal. If you take your foot off the accelerator, the innovative braking recuperation kicks in, the car slows down noticeably and the brake lights illuminate. Drivers should keep this in mind when signaling other drivers. Once you're familiar with pedal regeneration, you’ll find cruising through the city without pushing the brake very comfortable. Driving this way provides energy to the battery and helps to prolong the range of the vehicle. We strongly suggest that you use the brake pedal when you come to a complete stop, especially when you're on an incline. Even though the car has an automatic transmission, keeping your foot on the brake pedal will ensure that you maintain your current position.
      • Charging: Don't worry about charging. This is managed by our fleet team, so any BMW i3 available should have enough charge to cover any trip around the city during a day. The Range Extender BMW i3 greatly extends the range of the vehicle depending on driving habits and environmental conditions. The Range Extender adds a lightweight and efficient two-cylinder gasoline engine. When the initial charge is depleted to approximately 5 percent, the Range Extender automatically starts to maintain the battery's state of charge. The engine only produces electricity to charge the battery.
    • Airport

You cannot end your trip in short-term, long-term or economy lots at PDX; however you may drop off or pick up a car at AirPark, located at 6935 NE 82nd Ave, Portland, OR 97220. AirPark attendants will direct you to ReachNow parking spaces that are clearly marked. A free shuttle which runs every 5-15 minutes (max) will take you to and from PDX.

Call 503-257-2559 and request a shuttle. The shuttle is about 5-15 minutes from PDX. The AirPark shuttle picks up on the lower roadway outside of baggage claim, island 2. You will see a ReachNow logo on the shuttle.

Ask an AirPark attendant to help you find an available parking space.

You cannot end your trip in short-term, long-term or economy lots at Sea-Tac; however you may drop off or pick up a car at WallyPark Premier garage, located at:

      18613 International Blvd

      SeaTac, WA 98188

      p: 206.455.9611

When you enter the garage follow signs to dedicated ReachNow parking or ask an attendant for help.

Important Note: If ending your trip at Wally Park Premier, leave the garage ticket on the dash and hop on the shuttle. You'll be at the terminal in less than 10 minutes.

There is an additional $5 pickup and drop-off fee. The fee will appear on your final receipt.

    • Ride

    • Overview

ReachNow Ride is a new ride hailing service that allows Members in the Seattle area to get a ride from one of our professional drivers. Ride prices are always consistent — we don't do surge pricing — and you'll always get picked up in a BMW. You can personalize your preferences, including setting the temperature and radio stations, and you can get a little 'me time' by choosing 'quiet time.' All our cars provide chargers to keep your devices alive and you connected, and we'll even bring the candy!

ReachNow Ride is now available to all Seattle Members. At this time, there is no cost to join and become a Ride user. Simply enter your destination in the app, and we'll generate price estimates and travel times. Choose your Ride and you're good to go.

All of our Ride cars are owned and operated by ReachNow, and you will always be picked up in a BMW 3 Series or a BMW X1 by one of our trained and certified drivers.

    • Pricing

Ride pricing is based on three elements: a per trip base fare of $3.24 (inclusive of taxes & fees*), a per minute rate of $0.40 and a per mile rate of $2.40.  You will receive a fare estimate before you request any Ride, and we will never hit you with any surprise surge charges — it's just not our thing. For more information, visit www.reachnow.com/ride.

*Fees include the City of Seattle Accessibility Fee and Regulatory Fee.

Nope, we do not. Actual fares are based on trip distance and duration, plus any applicable fees and taxes. Sometimes we get to feeling extra generous, and may charge your lower rates for promotional reasons.

From the home screen of the ReachNow app, enter your destination and you’ll see price and arrival time estimates. Fare estimates help you get a sense for what a trip may cost, and are based on the expected duration and distance of the trip. However, these estimates are not guaranteed. While we try to make your price estimate as accurate as possible, please keep in mind that actual fares may vary due to traffic, weather, and other factors, and that additional fees may apply.

    • Hours

Ratings help to ensure the quality of our ReachNow Ride service. There is also an opportunity to provide additional feedback in the comments area.

Ride drivers strive to provide the best possible member experience, but their safety is important to us. Drivers reserve the right to refuse service to a Member or end a trip prematurely if they feel unsafe in any way.

    • Accessibility

At present, ReachNow does not operate wheelchair accessible vehicles. We are always looking to improve our service and will continue to explore opportunities for accessible Ride vehicles. To arrange a wheelchair accessible vehicle, please contact Yellow Cab at 206-622-6500.

Please remember that you can always drive yourself by reserving a ReachNow car from the Wally Park Premier Garage, located a short shuttle ride away from the terminal.

    • Rules

Although there is no legal requirement that passengers be sober before they enter a ReachNow Ride car, our drivers have the right to prevent Members who are highly intoxicated from entering a vehicle if they believe that Member could do harm to the driver or the vehicle.

    • Personalize

Members can set their Ride preferences from the app once they’ve requested a driver.

Quiet mode: We all can appreciate a moment of zen. Tap ‘quiet mode’ and our driver will let you relax quietly and enjoy the ride.

Temperature setting: Make your Ride temperature ideal for you.

Radio station: Select out of a list of local radio stations to set the perfect mood.

As always, we'll bring the water and candy, and all our cars come with chargers to keep your devices alive and you connected.

    • Becoming a Driver

We're always looking for great people to be a part of our team. We offer some really great advantages to our drivers, and if you're interested in learning more, please send an email with ride@reachnow.com.

    • Lost & found

If you think you accidentally left something in a ReachNow Ride vehicle, we're here to help. Contact our Member Support by phone at (844) 732-2466 or by sending an email to support@reachnow.com.

Please provide your driver's name or time and date of Ride (available in your ride receipt) and a description of the lost item. We'll do our best to locate your lost item and get it back to you as soon as we can.

  • Membership

Becoming a ReachNow Member is fast and easy. Simply select 'Sign In' from the home screen and follow the steps. Most Members are approved within minutes.

To make the sign-up process a little smoother, have your credit card and driver's license handy.

To become a Drive Member, there is a one-time, $15 fee; once you are approved to Drive, you'll get that $15 back via an account credit.

At this time, becoming a Ride member is free, so take advantage of it!

Becoming a ReachNow Member is pretty straightforward. You'll need to have a valid U.S. driver's license, be at least 21 years old, and have at least 2 years of driving experience. You must alos have an acceptable driving record free of major violations or accidents (see 'Membership Agreement' for details). You'll also need a valid credit or debit card; prepaid credit cards are not accepted.

If you aren't interested in driving one of our cars and only want to become a Ride member, you must be at least 18 years old and have a valid debit or credit card.

There is a one-time, $15 fee to become a ReachNow Member.

Once you're approved to Drive, you'll receive a $15 credit to your account that you can use immediately.

For a limited time you can check out our Ride service in Seattle for free (who doesn't love 'free'??).

For more details, see the 'Membership Agreement' in the app.

Unfortunately, at this time our insurance only covers drivers with valid U.S. driver's licenses. We're looking into expanding this option and will hopefully have some solutions soon. In the meantime, you can always get a Ride with us—all you need is a valid debit or credit card.

A valid debit or credit card is required to become a Member. This card will be kept on file and will be charged each time you use our service. Pre-paid credit cards are not accepted.

Members with prior violations may be eligible to use ReachNow Drive depending upon the type, date of incident, quantity and severity of the violation. Please see our Membership Agreement for eligibility criteria or contact Member Support at support@reachnow.com. We'll do our best to answer your questions and help get you on the road.

  • Invite-a-friend

With “Invite a Friend,” you can earn credit by inviting friends and family to join ReachNow. Tap on the “Free Trips” section of the app menu. From there, you can send invites via your favorite platform - text, email, social media, etc. Your friend or family member will get $20 credit for signing-up to Drive and you’ll get $20 credit once they take their first Drive.

As an existing ReachNow member, you will get a $20 ReachNow credit for every friend or family member (who isn't already a ReachNow member) you invite who successfully signs up via your invite link and takes a Drive.

New users will receive $20 credit after clicking an invite link and completing sign up. Make sure to use your credit and take your first Drive, so the Member that invited you gets their credits.

As a ReachNow Member, you can earn credit for future ReachNow travel by inviting your friends and families to download the ReachNow app.

As soon as your friend or family member successfully completes registration and takes their first drive, you will receive $20 credit for a future trip. Invites must be sent from within the 'Free Trips' section of the ReachNow app, using your unique invite link or by copying your unique link and sharing it. 'Invite-a-Friend' credit is only applicable for ReachNow Members who successfully invite new users not previously signed up with ReachNow.

Tap the 'Free Trips' section in the app menu. Follow the instructions to 'Send Invite' via  one of the available channels. Available channels include: SMS, email, social media and more. You can also copy your unique invite link to share on other channels.

Note: Invite links should only be used for personal, non-commercial purposes, and only shared with personal connections. They cannot be published or distributed where there is no reasonable basis for believing that all or most of the recipients are personal friends without prior express permission (i.e. coupon websites, Reddit, Wikipedia, etc.).

Once you send an invite to a friend, they should tap your invite from their smartphone to install our app and complete sign-up. As soon as sign up is complete, they'll receive $20 credit and you’ll be credited $20 once they complete their first Drive.

Sorry, this program only applies to those who are new to ReachNow.

We do not possess or share that type of information.

Credits will automatically appear in the 'Promos' section of your app once the required 'Invite-a-Friend' steps are completed. Credits can be identified by the combination of the first five letters of the inviting or invited member's first and last name (for example, Chris Johnson would appear as 'ChrisJohns'). ReachNow credit will be automatically applied to your account and will remain until the amount is exhausted. Used credits will be displayed on your receipt(s).

Nope, it's unlimited — so go crazy!

As an invited new user, you may only use one 'Invite-a-Friend' link. In the event you have received invites from multiple ReachNow Members, only the ReachNow Member whose link you clicked prior to completing sign up will receive the credit once you take your first Drive.
